Inspirational Bible Verses to Help Seniors Go Through the Phase of Aging

I read somewhere that said as people grow older, they will get less chance to spend quality time with their loved ones. Their children will be all grown up and busy, leaving them feeling very lonely. This will then become the reason why many seniors fall into depression.

I defiantly disagree with this writer!

This world says that once you are old, you’ll be looked down upon in society, but that’s not what God said. Once you retire from service, you’ll face a few problems in day-to-day life, but if you seek refuge in God, then I promise you’ll be able to enjoy your sixties or eighties as much as your young adulthood era.

From Titus 2: 2-5:

“Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. 3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”

From Psalms 92: 12-14:

Psalms 92: 12-14

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green…”

From 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18:

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

From Isaiah 46: 3-4:

““Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. 4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

From Psalms 46: 1-3:

“For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.[b] A song. 1 God is our refuge and strength, ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

From Leviticus 19:32:

‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.”

From Deuteronomy 34:7:

Deuteronomy 34:7

“Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.”

From Psalms 23:

“A psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3

he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

From Psalms 118:

“When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. 6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? 7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies. 8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. 9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. 13 I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me. 14 The Lord is my strength and my defense[a]; he has become my salvation. 15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! 16 The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” 17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.”

And, if you want to belong to this group, there is only one way: seek refuge in God’s word! […]
